W E L C O M E  T O  P R O J E C T  A.R.Y.S.

I'm a very avid Asian music fan. I first got into Japanese Rock back in January 2015 (alongside anime) and have expanded my music library with songs from the likes of ONE OK ROCK, SPYAIR, Amazarashi and more. After a while I needed more great music with meaningful lyrics and I discovered a Korean Pop boy group known as Bangtan Sonyeondan (BTS) which immediately drew my attention with their upbeat pop vibes, flashy dance choreography and deep lyrics. Naturally I listened to mainstream music in the past however in my personal opinion American music has only been getting worse ever since 2013 which led me to looking for other types of music other than mainstream pop/hiphop.

C.h.a.o.s.m.y.t.h. - ONE OK ROCK

• > From my favourite Japanese Rock band, C.h.a.o.s.m.y.t.h. is a song about everlasting friendships and to keep on doing what you love doing and to live life how you want to. I can relate to the lyrics due to pressure from friends and family to go into a career that I feel would be mundane and uninteresting to do for the rest of my lifetime. It's also difficult to find really good friends in today's society so I really treasure my close friends and I do my best to be thankful and content with living.



So Far Away - Agust D

• > I really love Agust D's (aka Suga/Min Yoongi from BTS) new mixtape. Listening to the mixtape is like a journey of emotions starting from anger and envy then it transitions to depression then ending with tranquility. So Far Away is the final song in his mixtape signalling his newfound peace and it sends a beautiful message about not giving up and hope that, although you may be experiencing hardships, in the end it'll pay off. The mix of instruments that Yoongi uses channels his emotions right to the heart of the listener from a slow, steady percussion to the intricate guitar solo near the end of the song.

There have been very few PC games that I've enjoyed playing over the past 5 years and I've played different genres spanning from First Person Shooters to Real Time Strategy and Role Playing Games. These games had me hooked from the moment I played them and I always find myself returning to them with a grin on my face as if they were elegantly wrapped Christmas presents.

Warframe

• > A Free2Play third person shooter revolving around “space ninjas”. You progress by completing different missions on each planet to unlock nearby planets. Other mechanics include crafting weapons and “Warframes”, which are your armoured suits to protect the operator inside, and the parkour system which allows you to do backflips, rolls and slides to dodge gunfire and get to your destination faster. The fun experience comes from the social part of the game where you can form clans with other players. Some of the endgame content is easier when you have an organised team of players who know what they are doing.

Dark Souls III

• > A role-playing game sequel in which you embark on a quest to prevent the First Flame from fading as you cut down other undead like yourself and are forced to defeat the 5 Lords of Cinder. It's a pretty difficult game if you're new to the Dark Souls series; having to manage your stamina, health and paying attention to the enemy's attacks is quite challenging to do. You can dodge enemy attacks by rolling through them thanks to the few frames of invulnerability the game grants during your rolling however the best feeling is when you time your parry correctly and you hear that satisfying thunder-like sound from deflecting the enemy's blow, leaving them open to perform a critical attack. The game has classes ranging from a tanky knight to a powerful pyromancer however it doesn't matter what class you pick unless you are building a character for PVP.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

• > Another role-playing game but plays completely different to Dark Souls. This time your adventure is not linear and is open world instead so you can pursue quests at your own pace and you can choose which location you want to explore first. You can play as a stealth character like the crafty feline race, Khajiit, or charge in swinging your heavy sword as a true Nord would. There's an array of skill trees to specialise in to enhance your character's abilities, building upon your race's strengths and reducing their weaknesses, from Destruction and Illusion magic to Speech and Sneaking. The game doesn't end there, even after hundreds of hours of content as there are thousands of mods out there to install, ranging from graphical enhancements to gameplay-changing mods so you can have a completely new experience each playthrough.
